Walton & Weybridge Regatta - Home

This is the web site of the Walton & Weybridge Regatta - formerly Walton Amateur Regatta. Held annually since 1862 on the River Thames in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England.

Water Quality.
(05-June-2026). We have been advised of the following with respect to the water quality and corresponding advice for those who are on the water, or are in the proximity of a capsize:
The level of bacteria at Walton Wharf on Wednesday was 2400 "very poor" following discharge upstream. It usually drops again quite quickly, so may be back within normal bounds by Saturday.
The advice is:
anyone who has contact with the water should be advised to wash their hands or use an antibacterial spray/gel
- anyone who falls in should be advised to shower as soon as practical
- stakeboat crews in particular should be TOLD to wash their hands as soon as they get back
There will be sanitiser and soap/fresh water at the catering hub .

Weather statement.
(05-June-2026). Dear clubs, crews and coaches, we are aware of the weather - the forecasted wind is stronger on Saturday than we would have liked but it is with the stream, so we are expecting the event to go ahead.
If crews are not able to attach to stakeboats in a timely fashion, we will move to a free start.
If you have any inexperienced/ low CRI crews who you feel will not be able to cope with the conditions and you would like to withdraw them for a full refund, please contact our Entries Secretary today, so that we can make sure we can notify their opposition of timetable changes.

Event documents.
(01-June-2026). Please could all competitors read the documents on 2026 documents, particularly with reference to the parking arrangements for competitors, all details concerning race procedures, circulation, safety and cond.uct

Draw published.
(01-June-2025). The Draw is now available at 2026 timetable on RowStats.

Some entries suspended.
(30-April-2026). We are limited to a maximum of 130 races on the Sunday. Some of the more popular events have already had entries suspended but are holding a waiting list, whilst others are still undersubscribed and open for entries. We are not operating first come, first served but will try to balance entries across clubs so please do enter crews on the waiting lists if you want them to compete - where we have one 8-entry event, we might still be able to make it 2 or 3 if numbers indicate demand.

NoR published - entries will open Tuesday 28th April 2026.
(27-April-2026). The Notice of Regatta (NoR) has now been published and is available from 2026 NoR.
Entries are due to open at 12 noon Tuesday 28th April at BROE2. Entries will close at 12 noon on Thursday 28th May 2025, or be suspended earlier if oversubscribed.
If you have any questions or queries about the NoR, please email our Entries Secretary. Thank you!

Final Draw published.
(04-June-2025). The Draw has now been finalised with some scratched crews replaced from the Wait List: 2025 timetable on RowStats.
Please would you ensure all your athletes have:
- read the competitors' instructions, including marshalling notes/circulation pattern (from 2025 documents)
- seen the updated draw
- know that winners stay on the water
- and trailer drivers know and understand the parking arrangements.

Please do not ask your crews to come off the water at Walton RC between races if they have won and are proceeding to the next round.

The weather forecast is for rain and a tail wind. Please make sure athletes are prepared for this as they may have to stay on the water for up to 3 races. It would be appreciated if all crews were able to practise and become familiar with attaching to a stake boat.

Event documents.
(02-June-2025). Please read the documents on 2025 documents, particularly with reference to the parking arrangements for competitors, all details concerning race procedures, circulation, safety and conduct. We will notify clubs about trailer parking in due course.

Provisional Draw published.
(31-May-2025). The timetable (or Order of Racing) for the 2025 Walton and Weybridge Regatta is now available to view from 2025 timetable on RowStats page.
Most events have been vastly over-subscribed. Those who have made entries into BROE for their club have been separately emailed explaining that a large number of crews are on the Wait List and may be brought into the Draw if crews scratch.
