Timetable 2019

Arriving at the regatta

Clubs bringing trailers that are permitted to park in Sunbury Lane by will be notified by the Regatta Entry Secretary before Friday 7th June. They should be parked at the river end of Sunbury Lane opposite Walton Rowing Club. Trailers may not park on the Friday before the regatta at Walton RC without the permission of the Regatta Secretary, Graham Pointer. There will be officials at the club all day on Friday and any unauthorised vehicles will be asked to move. Please note also that competitors arriving by car on Saturday must be dropped off away from Sunbury Lane. All day parking is available at the Felix Road Recreation Ground (accessed via Dudley Road - OpenStreetMap).

Note also that this year we will be operating a staggered arrival system in order to improve access for local residents and facilitate the parking process for the stewards. Our experience in past years is that too many trailers have been backed up in Sunbury Lane causing delays and frustration for their drivers and complaints from residents. This year, only two trailers at a time will be allowed into Sunbury Lane by the traffic marshals at the top of the road. Regardless of which direction you approach Sunbury Lane, please make your way on arrival to Waterside Drive (KT12 2JG) where marshals will be stationed from 06.30 at the entrance to Elmbridge Leisure Centre. They will direct trailers in pairs to Sunbury Lane every 8-10 minutes so please allow some extra time and respect their request if you are asked to wait. Waterside Drive is significantly wider than Sunbury Lane, is non-residential and there is room to turn in the Leisure Centre car park or at the bottom of the road.

Clubs not parking in Sunbury Lane will be also be notified by Friday 7th June, and must park trailers or cars with boats in Waterside Drive, near Elmbridge Leisure Centre, as they may not be parked at the competitors and spectators car park at the Felix Road Recreation Ground.

Please note the early start time of 0830 and the continuous racing at two, three, or four minute intervals between races throughout the day. The co-operation of coaches and competitors is therefore requested to ensure crews are boated in good time to be ready to race in accordance with the timetable. In particular, boats will need to be moved rapidly on and off the landing stages to ensure the correct throughput to the start.

Crews not boating from Walton RC must arrange to collect their numbers well before their race times and have them affixed before they enter the Walton stretch. They will not be allowed to land their boats at the Walton landing stage to pick up numbers.

Registration, Crew Changes, and Payment

Crew numbers can be collected from Regatta Control (at the back of Walton RC boathouse) from 0700. However, to avoid hold-ups, between 0700-0900 the only numbers that will be given out are those for race numbers 1-38.

Under the new competition system, it is the responsibility of every club to make any crew changes in BROE. Substitutions (50% rule) can be made up until the point when crews register. No changes can be made after this except in emergencies and only with the approval of Regatta Control.

Any outstanding entry fees should be paid by BACS or by cheque in favour of "Walton & Weybridge Regatta" and sent to The Entries Secretary before the day of the regatta.
